Brooklyn

Habana Outpost

Habana Outpost

Oh Brooklyn, how I love thee, let me count the ways! As if you didn’t know already, Brooklyn is becoming one of the trendiest spots for the 20 something crowd. If you hop on the F train to Fulton Street Habana Outpost is just one of many places you should visit. You may have heard of them in the city…Cafe Habana. They are a Green Cuban Restaurant! However, what I love most about this restaurant is they are community oriented. On the weekends from noon-6pm they host a Flea Market where they sell local designers’ items. They also host a Kid’s Corner where they education children on the environment and last but not least on some summer nights you can catch a flick under the stars! Check it out and until then stay fabulous!

The great thing about Brooklyn is the easy access! Everything you need and desire is within a 5 mile radius. If you want some sweet treats to follow Habana Outpost check out Cake Man Raven right up the block. He has become a nationally celebrated pastry chef creating masterpieces for Jolie Magazine, The New York Philharmonic Orchestra, and Mariah Carey to name a few! Most notable among Brooklynites is his red velvet cake, which is a slice of heaven for  $6. However, I recommend his red velvet cupcakes (which is all that I can handle) for $2. For those of you with a sweet tooth stop by and indulge in the delights. Until the next time, stay fabulous!

Sea

Sea

If you’re a fan of Thai food like myself, you will love this hip, exciting restaurant Sea in Williamsburg! My best friend’s mother took us out to eat here one night and I couldn’t believe that I had never explored this side of Williamsburg! You’ll be hearing a lot more from me on this neck of the woods. Anywho, when you walk in you expect the plates to be expensive but what a pleasant surprise it was to find most dishes under $10! Stay fab!

Sugarcane

Sugarcane

Out of the restaurants I’ve listed thus far under the Brooklyn Page Sugarcane is a bit more expensive. Plates range from $15-$20. However, as I am West Indian I want to promote this restaurant that’s doing so well it doesn’t need much of my help. It’s an upscale Trinidadian restaurant in the heart of Brooklyn that has at times a very romantic atmosphere and at other times a very lively atmosphere. Once again, it’s a good place to experience a piece of Brooklyn and a piece of T&T all rolled into one! I recommend the Sorrel Martini. Stay fabulous!
